EDUCATION IN ORISSA
| Orissa acquired the status of a separate State on April 1,1936. Oriyas who are an extremely tradition-bound people were quite apathetic to receive the liberal education introduced during the British Raj. However, after independence of the Country. Orissa like other Indian state witnessed a massive quantitative expansion of its education system during the last five decades.
